News from SJFVC Board

The Social Justice Fund for Ventura County (SJFVC) is progressing with our selection of grantees for 2018's campaign, Immigrant Empowerment.  We have shortlisted 6 candidates from 18 Letters of Interest (LOIs).  The shortlisting of the LOIs was done in a meeting of board members, donors and other friends of the Social Justice Fund for Ventura County.  There were more candidates than our budget capacity to provide grants so we tried to pick those candidates who we thought would have the best impact for the funds we could provide. We are very excited about the remaining candidates.

We will announce the grant winners on July 15 at a Celebration for Social Activists  This event will not be limited to announcing our grant winners but will be a celebration for all who are involved in creating a more just Ventura County: members of community organizations, individual activists, and donors.    There will also be opportunities to interact and network with other actors in social activism and share stories and best practices. Activists will be able to interact with donors and donors with activists. Those new to social activism will be able to get acquainted with some of the key actors in the county.  The event will take place from 4 to 6:30 at Art Trek in Thousand Oaks on July 15 to learn more and register to attend click on the link below.
