SJFVC’s 2018 Campaign Is Focusing on Immigration

For 2018,  Social Justice Fund for Ventura County (SJFVC) has decided to focus our campaign on immigration issues in Ventura County. The immigration challenges faced by Californian’s, particularly those in Ventura County, are obviously diverse. As a small organization SJFVC can’t tackle them all, but the SJFVC board has decided it is time to for us to try to step forward and help where we can. We have met with past donors, talked to experts and have sought first hand stories from the community to help us focus where we can be most effective.

As our next step we have partnered with California Lutheran University (CLU) and the Center for Equality and Justice to schedule an event (Immigration: Challenges and Strategies in Ventura County) on Saturday morning of Feb. 17, 2018 at CLU’s Lundring Event Center where participants will hear from experts on immigration and listen to real stories from our fellow Ventura County brothers and sisters who are fighting these battles and finally we will have small group discussions where we can share ideas.

From this event SJFVC hopes to raise awareness, generate additional funding and better determine where we can most effectively assist those on the front lines.

Watch for the event flyer and please join us and tell others:
