work to promote fairness, equity, and human rights by funding and empowering future leaders.
Social Justice is:
The fair, equitable, and just relation between the individual and society. This is measured by the explicit and tacit terms for the distribution of wealth, opportunities for personal activity, and social privileges.
Social Justice Fund for Ventura County promotes fairness, equity and human rights. We strengthen social justice by empowering community members to create lasting change.
The Social Justice Fund for Ventura County envisions a world where each person lives as a part of an inclusive community that provides them equitable access to resources and opportunities to be safe, healthy and able to reach their potential. We have tangible proof of what we've succeeded in 2020. We paid for nurses lunches, did two covid-19 relief funds and gave farmers masks to wear. We also are funding 10 fellows who are working on social justice. Two of the projects focus on social justice in education and the other is art education.
Social Justice Fund for Ventura County invest in community organizing – the process of bringing people together and helping them develop their voices, realize their power and collectively act to create real change in their lives and communities.
