SJFVC Sadly Says Goodbye to Martita

A Heartfelt Goodbye

The Social Justice Fund for Ventura County would like to send our deep appreciation and gratitude to Martita Martinez-Bravo, our Executive Director over the last 4 years.

Martita joined the Social Justice Fund in January 2018 as Administrator Director and was promoted to Executive Director in 2019. During her time, she filled many roles within the organization.

Accomplisments

During her time at SJEVC, Martita's contributions helped launch the Social Justice Fellowship program. Within two years, the program successfully funded eight Fellows and two emerging organizations targeting social justice.

Contributions

Martita was also a key figure in fundraising for SJFVC. Her contributions helped the fund double in fundraising. SJFVC has also been awarded several grants for the first time in a decade, including from the McCune Foundation and Amgen Foundation.

Martita's passion for social justice, ability to build relationships and make the SJFVC better known throughout Ventura County has been crucial to this growth. More recently, she has successfully piloted our approach to the Foundation grants. She helped drive these efforts during the worst time of the pandemic, an amazing feat.

Thank you, Martita!

Your efforts over the last 4 years have made a big difference in so many lives. We at the Board of the SJFVC thank you for your dedication and

passion for justice. We wish the best to you in all of your future endeavors. Your work at the SJFVC has made a lasting impact in our community.
